  i mean seriously, most of us have been inside for a number of years.

  so during all this time did you ever see happy person or a family or were you ever truly happy there, even for a brief period of time?

  if you were happy, when was it?

  when i joined the jw's, i didn't know how to make a tie knot, and still don't.

  i guess that if i tried, i'd look like this below.... .

  yes, I do ; I did and I still do.

  I have to wear a jacket and tie for business.

  If you think the windsor knot is difficult ( neck tie); try tying an actual Bow tie. THAT is difficult.

  ..like the english.. most brits use slang and colloquialisms as part of their everyday life.

  even jw's use the less offensive terms.

  i was surprised that many americans hadn't heard of the term "loo" before.

  some of us HAVE seen "My Fair Lady"....

  ....and all of us Americans posting on this forum just love to hear "The Kings English" spoken. As for the other accents in the UK; well, no thank you. We have enough accents of our own.

  at the 'big house' you go either one of two ways, company man or apostate.

  i think for many that went, it demystified the whole organization and you saw firsthand that there wasn't holy spirit influencing anything - only the muses of sheltered, out-of-touch old men and political bureaucrats.

  i work in the corporate world and i saw just as much if not more politics in bethel.

  our daughter was born yesterday.

  mrs thirdson and baby firstdaughter are doing fine.. i haven't posted much in the past year.

  i've been rather busy and life is going to get even more hectic.. 3rd (aka proud dad).

  Marriage Proposal.

  i just found out today that my jw mum has turned down a proposal of marriage for the fourth time.

  none of the proposals were from the same guy either, although all 4 were jw's.

  i'm also told that mum's considered quite a dish for an octogenarian.. however, i'm also reliably informed that one of the main reasons for her refusals is because of the df'd "state" of my kid brother and myself.. see, she's considered a mature dub, one of the elite, and she also gets her own quiet ration of new light.

  I do not believe YOU have anything to do with it.

  14 year old rejected by father for not becoming jw

  ok quick recap of events leading to this.

  my dtr married young to prominent family in wtbs...had dtr...dtr now 14 years old....my dtr left hubby and wtbs about 10 yrs ago....she is doing very well in life...... she told me today her 14 years old dtr has not heard from her father (x-hubby) for over a month....why i ask???

  ?because she does not want to become a jw...............he now basically has very little , if anything, to do with her due to this.

  how very sad for this child.....

  However; if this man is cold enough to use a RELIGION for an excuse to not love his daughter it sounds like he is not worth the effort at all. I hope your daughter takes this $#%?! for all the money he is worth in child support and alimony.

  The child is most likely better off without this kind of monster in her life.
